Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center Mexico seeks a Technical Engineering Director to lead a portfolio of tax technology applications, guiding solution design, architecture, and modernization across cloud-enabled platforms and AI-assisted workflows. You will set technical direction, coach senior engineers, and translate business needs into scalable engineering outcomes within our Technology Consulting practice.

The role balances stabilization, regulatory updates, production reliability, and modernization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience with progressive technical leadership.
• Proven ability to lead teams of 30+ engineers across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of tax technology applications across design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Own delivery of a project balancing stabilization work and modernization initiatives across the portfolio.
• Design end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise platforms and guide technical direction on complex system decisions.
• Review critical designs, code paths, incident root causes, and architecture trade-offs to unblock senior engineers.
• Drive engineering discipline through coding standards, testing rigor, release reliability, and observability practices.
• Establish local delivery ownership by moving teams from staff augmentation toward full application accountability.
• Coaching senior engineers and technical leads through direct feedback, problem solving, and architectural decision making.
• Identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability gaps, then shape remediation plans.
• Build AI-assisted development workflows, automated test generation, and LLM-enabled capabilities for compliant technology delivery.
• Track delivery velocity, quality metrics, production health, and support trends to guide roadmap and operating decisions.
• Establish sprint discipline through retrospectives, root cause analysis, and transparent trade-off management.
