Placements24 is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director de Operaciones de Flota to lead Acapulco's transportation operations. This senior role oversees fleet safety, maintenance, route planning and vendor relationships to deliver reliable services.

You will manage budgets, drive cost savings, implement GPS/telematics, and lead drivers, dispatchers and maintenance teams while ensuring compliance with Mexican regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of fleet management experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair and best practices.
• Familiarity with Mexican transportation laws, safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and drive cost savings.

Responsibilities

This senior leadership position is responsible for the overall management, efficiency, and safety of the company's fleet, ensuring seamless transportation services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fleet management, route optimization, driver management, and regulatory compliance specific to the transportation industry in Mexico. You will play a critical role in driving cost savings, enhancing operational performance, and maintaining the highest standards of service quality. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for fleet expansion, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including dispatch, scheduling, and route planning.
• Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols and ensure compliance with all national and local transportation regulations.
• Manage the procurement, leasing, and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal asset utilization.
• Develop and manage the fleet's annual budget, controlling operational costs and identifying areas for savings.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance personnel.
• Implement and monitor advanced fleet management technologies, such as GPS tracking and telematics, to enhance performance and safety.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
• Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure timely and effective response to any incidents or emergencies involving the fleet.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in fleet management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and operational best practices.
• Strong understanding of Mexican transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and standard office productivity tools.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Acapulco, Guerrero , and be available for occasional emergency call‑outs.
