Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Bartender to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The bartender will provide professional beverage service, maintain a clean and safe bar environment, and deliver great customer service while complying with alcohol-service regulations.

Responsibilities include preparing drinks, operating POS, handling cash, and supporting MWR activities. Requirements: high school diploma and 2+ years in bartending or related service, plus passport and visa eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years bartending or hospitality experience.
• Must meet age 21+ to serve alcohol.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas.
• Experience operating POS systems and handling cash.
• Strong customer service and beverage service knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and standards.
• Serve beer, wine, and mixed beverages with responsible service practices.
• Verify patron age and identification per laws and policies.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and prevent underage drinking and intoxication.
• Provide courteous professional customer service to all patrons.
• Describe menu items and serve food when applicable.
• Prepare beverage garnishes and maintain an organized, stocked bar area.
• Operate POS systems and cash registers, process transactions accurately.
• Maintain accountability for cash handling and reconcile transactions.
• Clean and sanitize bar equipment and stations.
• Maintain inventory levels and notify management of shortages.
• Support MWR programs, events, and recreational activities.
• Follow procedures, sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the role.
