Autoliv Mexico is seeking a Development Engineer to lead the technical assessment, validation, and implementation of design changes for seatbelt systems, including drawings updates and BOM releases.

You will coordinate with Program Management, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Launch Engineering to drive DV/PV testing and ensure product performance and regulatory compliance, while communicating with customers in English.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of automotive industry experience, preferably in product design or development.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, SPC, and engineering specifications.
• Experience with root cause analysis and 8D corrective actions.
• Excellent technical English communication skills.

Responsabilidades

In this role you will beresponsible for leading the technical assessment, validation, and implementation of design changes, including drawing updates, document and BOM releases, supplier technical coordination, and the development and execution of validation plans and reports.

Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of production seatbelt systems, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements.

• Manage engineering design changes, including the release of component drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation through the Autoliv change management process.

• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, supporting product development, implementation activities, and relationship management.

• Plan, execute, and analyze DV/PV validation testing, documenting results and ensuring product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Launch Engineering to support projects from concept through production launch.

If you have/are:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in product design, product development, or engineering roles.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and engineering specifications.

• Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis methodologies and problem-solving tools, including 8D corrective action processes.

• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal), with strong technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
