Autoliv is seeking a Development Engineer to lead design, validation, and release of production seatbelt systems, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements. You will manage engineering changes, release drawings and BOMs, and serve as the primary technical interface with customers for product development.

The role requires strong GD&T, SPC, and 8D problem-solving skills, plus 2–5 years in automotive design/engineering.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
• 2–5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in design/development roles.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, SPC and engineering specifications.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of production seatbelt systems, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements.
• Manage engineering design changes, including release of component drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation through change management.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, supporting product development, implementation activities, and relationship management.
• Plan, execute, and analyze DV/PV validation testing, documenting results and ensuring product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Launch Engineering to support projects from concept through production launch.

In this role you will be responsible for leading the technical assessment, validation, and implementation of design changes, including drawing updates, document and BOM releases, supplier technical coordination, and the development and execution of validation plans and reports.

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of production seatbelt systems, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements.
• Manage engineering design changes, including the release of component drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation through the Autoliv change management process.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, supporting product development, implementation activities, and relationship management.
• Plan, execute, and analyze DV/PV validation testing, documenting results and ensuring product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Launch Engineering to support projects from concept through production launch.

If You Have/are

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in product design, product development, or engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and engineering specifications.
• Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis methodologies and problem-solving tools, including 8D corrective action processes.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal), with strong technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
