Job summary

Yanfeng is seeking a CAD Designer/Engineer to create and modify CAD models for future products, and to manage DWG files with GD&T in standard templates.

The role requires 2+ years of product design experience, particularly in the automotive Tier 1 space, and deep understanding of plastics, metal stampings, and A-Surface development. Proficiency in CATIA and NX is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal education in CAD design or engineering with ABET-equivalent recognition.
• Minimum two years of product design experience, preferably automotive Tier 1.
• Strong knowledge of plastics, metal stampings and A-Surface development.

Responsibilities

• Create new CAD models for future products and modify existing CAD data.
• Prepare DWG files in YFSS templates with GD&T annotations.
• Manage CAD data releases in YF PLM system.
• Coordinate data transfers with internal interfaces and customers.

Internal Essential functions of the job and specific requirements

The CAD Designer / Engineer’s key responsibilities include: 1. Creating new CAD models of future products; 2. Analyzing and modifying CAD models that YFSS receives from customers, suppliers, or other internal sources; 3. Creating and modifying DWG files in the proper YFSS- and customer templates, including creating and applying the proper GD&T for the parts and assemblies; 4. Managing CAD data releases in YF PLM; 5. Communicating with internal YFITC and customer interfaces/ departments to transfer data.

The CAD Designer / Engineer’s key responsibilities include:

Qualifications:

2-year Associates Degree in CAD design OR 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace from an ABET-accredited university or international equivalent.

2+ years of experience in product design, preferably within the automotive Tier 1 space.

Deep understanding in Plastics, Metal Stampings and A-Surface Development.

Software experience:

Design software: CATIA, NX – expert.

PLM software: Teamcenter, Enovia, SAP, AGILE – functional working knowledge.

• Knowledge of design, product change and automotive standard and procedures (FMVSS, Euro, NOM, ASME, ISO, CR-CN, ETC)
