Zusammenfassung

Grupo TECMA is seeking a Plastic Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize plastic components for manufacturing in Ciudad Juárez, México. You will work with cross-functional teams to meet functional, cost, and manufacturability requirements and support NPI from concept to production.

The role requires a degree in mechanical/plastic engineering, 3+ years of plastic design experience, proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA/Creo/NX), and advanced English.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of plastic product or component design experience.
• Experience designing parts for injection molding.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or NX).
• Strong understanding of plastics, injection molding, and mold design considerations.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience with DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and product validation.
• Automotive or electronics manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced English communication skills.

The Plastic Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of plastic components for manufacturing. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs meet functional, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements while supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop plastic components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Product Engineering teams throughout the product development process.
• Support mold design reviews and provide recommendations to improve part quality and manufacturability.
• Select appropriate plastic materials based on product requirements and application.
• Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and product validation activities.
• Analyze design issues and implement engineering changes when required.
• Support new product introductions (NPI) from concept through production launch.
