Job summary

SEGULA Technologies in Toluca and Saltillo is seeking a Design Engineer with a strong automotive background to develop core powertrain components and bracket assemblies. You will design, model, and optimize brackets and powertrain parts, creating detailed drawings and ensuring fit with manufacturing processes.

The role requires 3+ years in automotive design, proficiency in NX/AutoCAD, and knowledge of GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years in the automotive industry designing brackets, engine supports or powertrain components.
• Proficient in Siemens NX and AutoCAD; Catia/SolidWorks a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and optimize brackets and structural components for powertrain systems.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings per automotive standards.
• Perform packaging, clearance, and interference checks within complex vehicle assemblies.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure design feasibility (DFM/DFA).
• Support design changes (ECOs) and engineering root cause analysis.

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer with a strong automotive background to join our team in developing core powertrain components and structural bracket assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, model, and optimize brackets and structural components for powertrain systems.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings in compliance with automotive industry standards.
• Perform packaging, clearance, and interference checks within complex vehicle assemblies.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers) to ensure design feasibility (DFM/DFA).
• Support design changes (ECOs) and engineering root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in the automotive industry, specifically designing brackets, engine supports, or powertrain components.
• CAD Software: Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software (Catia, SolidWorks).
• Languages: Good professional English skills (ability to hold technical conversations and documentation).
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), stack-up analysis, and manufacturing processes.
