Chiaphua Components Group in Guadalajara, Mexico is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to join our automotive manufacturing team. You will lead PFMEA, PPAP, MSA activities and act as a technical bridge to Tier-1/OEM brake system makers, driving quality from design through launch.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in automotive quality assurance, strong English communication, and deep knowledge of IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools.

Formación

• Minimum 3–5+ years in automotive quality assurance.
• Direct experience as CQE or customer-facing quality roles preferred.
• Mastery of IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Strong problem-solving skills (8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why).
• Excellent written/spoken English for global collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Review motor design specs during NPI to ensure manufacturability.
• Lead PFMEA updates for winding, commutator welding and brush-box assembly.
• Author and approve PPAP packages, control plans and MSA.
• Verify Poka-Yoke and error-proofing at key stations.
• Perform line audits focused on CTQ parameters.
• Monitor SPC charts for critical parameters.
• Set pass/fail criteria for EOL testers (EMF, resistance, noise).
• Manage non-conformance, containment, scrap/rework dispositions.
• Lead 8D investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Serve as technical bridge between Tier-1/OEMs and plants, manage RMAs.

We are looking for a high-caliber candidate to fill the above position.

Responsibilities and requirements are listed below:

Customer Quality Engineer - CCMX Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco (Tesistán area), Mexico

• Review motor design specifications (torque, current draw, brush wear limits) during New Product Introduction (APQP) to ensure manufacturability.
• Lead and continuously update Process FMEAs (PFMEA) specifically for winding, commutator welding, and brush-box assembly.
• Author, assemble, and approve Level 3 PPAP packages, including Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
• Verify and validate Poka-Yoke and error-proofing systems at critical manufacturing stations, such as automated brush presence sensors.
• Conduct regular process and line audits on the assembly floor focusing strictly on critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters.
• Monitor and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for critical parameters like brush spring tension and commutator runout.
• Establish pass/fail criteria and parameters for automated End-of-Line (EOL) testers measuring back-EMF, winding resistance, and acoustic noise.
• Manage non-conformance by isolating suspect material, issuing immediate containment actions, and making scrap/rework dispositions on the shop floor.
• Lead 8D root cause investigations using Ishikawa (fishbone) diagrams and 5-Why analysis to address complex customer rejections and quality issues.
• Act as the primary technical bridge and customer interface between Tier-1/OEM brake system makers and internal manufacturing plants, managing 0-km rejections, warranty returns (RMA), and customer portal scorecards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of quality assurance experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
• Direct experience as a Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) or in customer-facing technical quality roles is highly preferred.
• Mastery of IATF ***** quality standard requirements and full proficiency in AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Advanced proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D reports, Ishikawa diagrams, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.
• Strong technical understanding of DC brush motor dynamics, including carbon brush wear, commutation, winding integrity, insulation resistance, and acoustic noise/vibration.
• Experience in safety-critical automotive electromechanical applications (e.g., ABS/ESC hydraulic pumps, electronic parking brakes).
• Proven track record in managing customer claims, 0-km rejections, warranty return analysis (RMA), and joint failure investigations.
• Familiarity with daily tracking and maintenance of customer quality portals, web scorecards, and performance metrics.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English paired with strong communication skills to facilitate seamless collaboration with global customers and international plants.
