Job summary

Nexon Automation in Saltillo, Mexico, is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, commission and optimize electrical and automated control systems for industrial equipment, applying engineering principles, standards and best practices. You will work on control software, PLC logic, and HMI applications to support customer projects locally, remotely, or on-site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or related science, advanced English, and 1–2 years of experience in industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
• Languages: Advanced English.

Responsibilities

• Executes specialized technical services for internal and external customers, locally, remotely, or on-site.
• Designs industrial control architectures by selecting communication protocols, networking equipment, and programming languages for automation systems.
• Identifies potential failure modes and implements preventive and corrective actions in electrical and control systems; performs risk and safety assessments.
• Validates, commissions, and tests the equipment and systems assigned to the project.
• Analyses PLC logic, sequences, interlocks, alarms, networks, signals, and operating conditions.
• Identifies root causes of recurring failures, production losses, and quality issues.
• Develops hypotheses, conducts tests, and validates root causes with evidence.
• Develops and implements modifications to PLC programs, HMI applications, and peripheral systems.
• Designs/improves projects to increase availability, reliability, and performance.
• Optimizes cycles, sequences, fault recovery, and machine interactions.
• Integrates and troubleshoots PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, VFDs, sensors, safety devices.
