Job summary

BMW Group's Financial Services division is seeking a Reporting & Controlling Trainee to support financial planning, performance steering and reporting across multiple teams. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, delivering insights for decision-making and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Risk, Treasury, Insurance, Operations and IT, participate in month-end close, prepare OPEX analyses, and support the implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of professional experience in Finance, Controlling, Reporting, or Financial Services environments is desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong data-handling capabilities.
• Knowledge of databases and analytical tools such as Microsoft Access or SAS is advantageous.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Support short- and long-term financial planning activities, including Budget, Forecast, Actuals and Long-Range Planning for operating expenses and business performance management.
• Analyze budget deviations and identify drivers impacting financial performance, supporting the Controlling team in developing corrective actions and recommendations.
• Support budget governance by monitoring purchase requisitions, invoices and expense allocations, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and accurate budget utilization.
• Participate in month-end closing activities and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
• Prepare management presentations, OPEX analyses, and performance reports for monthly business reviews and headquarters submissions.
• Support treasury operations through daily activities such as bank statement monitoring, payment tracking, and financial data validation.
• Contribute to process improvements, reporting enhancements, and the implementation of new analytical tools that increase efficiency and transparency within the Finance organization.
