The Controller will own the accounting function end to end, leading month-end close, revenue recognition, reconciliations, billing, AP/AR, payroll, and multi-country compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on month-end close ownership under GAAP, including revenue recognition for service businesses.
• Strong modeling skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Experience in professional services, agencies, or SaaS.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and time-tracking tools like Harvest is a plus.
• Advanced English proficiency both written and verbal required.

About The Role

The Controller will own the company’s accounting function end to end, with a strong emphasis on hands-on execution and maintaining accurate, audit-ready financial records. They will lead the month-end close, oversee revenue recognition, reconciliations, billing, AP/AR, collections, payroll entries, and multi-country accounting compliance while ensuring financial processes and internal controls are followed.

What You’ll Do:

Accounting & Close

• Own the month-end close: revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and a close calendar that consistently hits its deadline.

• Manage recurring, project, and variable (percent-of-spend / programmatic) revenue, including mid-month starts, churn, offering swaps, and prorations.

• Oversee AP, AR, payroll entries, and multi-country (US, Canada, Mexico, UK) compliance.

• Maintain clean, documented, audit-ready books, supported by strong internal controls and reconciliations.

• Oversee billing accuracy and collections in partnership with account teams.

What You’ll Bring:

• 7+ years in accounting

• Hands-on month-end close ownership under GAAP, including revenue recognition for service businesses.

• Strong modeling skills in Excel / Google Sheets (SUMIFS, lookups, and driver-based models should be second nature).

• Experience in professional services, agencies, or SaaS, where margin is driven by people and time.

• Familiarity with NetSuite (or similar ERP) and time-tracking tools like Harvest a plus.

• Advance English proficiency both written and verbal required

Nice to Have

• Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience.

• Experience building client or project profitability reporting.

• Comfort using AI tools to speed up analysis and reporting.

Work Environment Requirements

As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from your home office. This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack.
