Kontoor Brands is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to drive the monthly financial close for the Mexico City operation (Wrangler brand). The role requires strong ethics, proactive decision-making, and oversight of journal entries, reconciliations and local tax compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a CPA or equivalent, 10+ years in accounting/finance with at least 2 years in supervision, and advanced Excel skills; SAP S/4HANA experience is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will lead the monthly financial close process for the Mexico City business, which consists of the Wrangler® brand, with ultimate responsibility for accurate and timely monthly financial reporting to the corporate office.

This leader should consistently demonstrate a high level of ethics to all members of the accounting team and the organization.

Key responsibilities will include preparation and review of all journal entries associated with the financial close, with intense focus on higher risk accounts such as bad debt reserves, inventory and related reserves, AP and accruals, and refund liabilities for customer returns and discounts.

This position is also responsible for the preparation and/or review of monthly account reconciliations, and execution of Kontoor’s internal controls framework in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. This position will also work with KBI’s Corporate Treasury Department, overseeing certain local cash management, accounts payable and customer accounting function

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to the corporate office
• Preparation and review of monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Act as a "Legal representative" for the entity responsible for local tax, audit and statutory regulatory communications and compliance.
• Display peak levels of ethics and morality, representing the office with integrity and a proactive “lead by example” approach.
• Coach and develop less-experienced staff.

REQUERIMENTS

• Must possess a college degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or similar designation preferred but not required)
• Must have moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., ability to structure and analyze larger data sets and write formulas)
• Should possess 10 years of experience in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Detail oriented and able to comply with tight deadline
• Experience in SAP S/4 HANA is preferred but not required
• Demonstrating proactive decision-making skills, strong leadership capabilities and integrity.
• Must be registered legal representative in Mexico
