Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Component Design Engineer – Large Engine to join our global engineering team in Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon. You will design core engine components such as heads, blocks and housings, collaborating across manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering to deliver robust solutions.

You will apply FMEA, NPIs, and problem-solving techniques while supporting NTI, CPI and NSI programs, mentoring teammates, and driving continuous improvement in product quality and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or related accredited technical curriculum.
• Advanced English-speaking level is required.

Responsibilities

• Design core engine components such as heads, blocks, and housings as part of a global team.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, marketing, and engineering to meet requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and structured problem solving for manufacturing and product issues.
• Apply NPIs to conduct FMEAs, formulate validation plans, and complete validation activities.
• Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
