Job summary

Ria Money Transfer, INC. is seeking a Check Cashing Collection Specialist in Mexico to bill and collect on returned checks processed for RIA Stores. The role involves contacting issuers/customers, verifying check details, and recovering funds while updating records in the system.

Responsibilities include daily outreach via phone/fax/email, delivering professional service, meeting billing targets, and advising on payment options. Experience in collections or AR is a plus.

Qualifications

• English level 75%
• Must be detail oriented, with the ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
• Collections or Accounts Receivable experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manages billing of Chargebacks, Adjustments & Fees for a specific region
• Reach out to Issuers/Customers on a daily basis via phone/fax/email- advising them of returned items and requesting payments
• Fax/email – Returned item notices to RIA Stores
• Responsible for verifying the information on checks returned by the bank
• Contact Stores regarding non–conforming images
• Recover funds from Issuers/Customers
• Answer incoming calls, resolve agent inquiries, create and provide payment receipts to Stores when requested.
• Data entry
• Deliver a consistent and professional level of service at all times.
• Achieve billing targets and call quality objectives.
• Advice and influence Issuers/Customers on the payment options for recovery of funds
• Handle each call promptly and in the correct manner, updating records accordingly.
• Input customer related data accurately and efficiently.
• Take responsibility for resolving disputes, ensuring that caller concerns are actioned correctly and all parties are notified.
• Decide on the correct action when negotiating payments.
• Have the ability to relate to people from a variety of different backgrounds.
• Be persuasive, persistent and self-motivated. Show empathy, assertiveness, tact and resilience.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Check Cashing Collection Specialist is responsible for billing/collecting on returned items for checks processed by RIA Stores, and other collections duties as assigned.

The Check Cashing Collection Specialist is responsible for billing/collecting on returned items for checks processed by RIA Stores, and other collections duties as assigned. The Collections Specialist must follow up on checks assigned to them, with the objective of collecting as much as possible and subsequently updating notes/payments in the system. This will require reaching out to the Customer or Check Issuer directly and attempting to secure a payment for the dishonored instrument received by RIA.

Ria Money Transfer offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The reasonable estimated pay for thisrole ranges from ($214,000MXN to $228,000MXN). Actual compensation is based upon factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
