Job Description

Are you passionate about the automotive industry and ready to start a career at General Motors? Join our Business Planning team and work side by side with the Managing Director of GM de México (and the Mexico Executive Committee) in a role that gives you a front-row seat to how a global automaker is run.

As a Business Planner Intern, you will provide administrative, coordination and analytical support to the Managing Director, ensuring the seamless planning and execution of meetings, events, trips and special projects. You will interact daily with leaders across functions, plants, dealers and regional/global counterparts, and you will have the chance to learn the business end to end while leveraging Artificial Intelligence and digital tools to make our team more efficient.

What You Will Do
  • Manage and coordinate the General Director's agenda, meetings, guests and visits, anticipating conflicts and keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Plan and coordinate domestic and international travel: flight and hotel options, itineraries, logistics and ground transportation.
  • Support the planning and execution of executive events and leadership forums (Mexico Executive Committee sessions, plant visits, town halls, leadership meetings), including agendas, participants, catering and vendor coordination.
  • Prepare and track expense reports, purchase requisitions and purchase orders in GM systems (e.g., Concur, Ariba), working with Finance and suppliers to close them on time.
  • Draft and send professional communications in Spanish and English to executives, internal teams, and regional and global counterparts.
  • Keep key information up to date and organized (executive/planner directories, organization charts, shared folders, trackers and templates).
  • Support cross-functional projects and initiatives, preparing presentations, summaries and follow-ups for the Managing Director's office.
  • Build and improve team tools, dashboards and automations using data and AI to reduce manual work and improve decision-making.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in the final stages of a bachelor's degree (semester or quarter), with expected graduation in December 2027 or July 2028.
  • Education: Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Economics, Marketing, or related disciplines.
  • English: Advanced (written and spoken) – you will communicate with global teams and executives.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and experience applying it to projects (e.g., generative AI assistants, process automation, content or data analysis).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, curious and resilient; comfortable adapting to changing priorities and working with autonomy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Genuine interest in the automotive industry and in building a long-term career at GM.
Desirable (not mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet)
  • Experience or exposure to Databricks, Microsoft Azure or Google Apps Script.
  • Data analytics: basic understanding of data analysis and visualization (Excel, Power BI or similar), or a strong interest in developing these skills.
  • Prior internship or project experience in planning, project coordination, operations or executive support.
What You Will Gain
  • Direct exposure to GM México's senior leadership and to how strategic decisions are made.
  • End-to-end visibility of the business: sales, marketing, product planning, manufacturing, finance and more.
  • Hands-on experience with AI, data and automation in a real corporate environment.
  • Mentorship, networking and a clear path to explore opportunities and grow your career within GM.
