JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Utilize market data and develop sales strategies to increase SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM customer base
  2. Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the company
  3. Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers
  4. Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships
  5. Provide pricing, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
  6. Provide activity reports and sales plans for the assigned territory
  7. Actively participate in aggressive sales and skills training
  8. Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Sales Policy
  9. Other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Excellent organizational skills
  2. Excellent written and verbal skills
  3. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  4. Thorough knowledge of transportation industry logistics and freight forwarding
  5. Thorough knowledge of successful sales techniques
  6. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  7. Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  8. Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  9. Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. College degree preferred
  2. 3-5 years successful sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics and/or transportation industry
  3. Experience with CMS system

DEFINITION OF ACCOUNTS:

BASE yearly gross profit less than 25,000 dollars

SILVER yearly gross profit 25,001-50,000

GOLD yearly gross profit 50,001-100,000

PLATINUM yearly gross profit over 100,000
