Schneider Electric is seeking a BMS Hardware Design Engineer in Mexico to develop complete hardwire design packages for building management and automation systems. The role requires HVAC and controls fundamentals along with disciplined documentation and cross‑functional coordination across mechanical, electrical, and customer teams.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on BMS design experience with a quality‑first mindset and clear communication in a global project environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a closely related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience producing BMS, building automation, or controls hardware designs for real projects.
• Solid understanding of HVAC equipment, instrumentation, control panels, electrical wiring, I/O types, and communication networks.
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio and the ability to create clear, consistent technical drawings.
• Ability to read and reconcile multiple sources of design information and make sound engineering decisions within the assigned scope.
• English B2 certification and professional written and verbal communication skills for direct collaboration with global customers and cross‑functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret mechanical, piping, electrical, plumbing, controls, and architectural drawings; project specifications; engineering standards; sales take-offs; sequences of operation; and customer requirements.
• Translate project requirements into coordinated BMS hardware designs with minimal supervision, identifying missing information, conflicts, and technical risks early.
• Produce and maintain system schematics, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, network architecture drawings, controller and I/O selection, point schedules, bills of material, and engineering submittals.
• Select and size field devices, including sensors, transmitters, actuators, dampers, and control valves, based on project requirements and applicable standards.
• Develop clear control logical diagrams and relay logic wiring that support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and long-term serviceability.
• Coordinate BMS interfaces with HVAC equipment, electrical metering, packaged equipment, life-safety interfaces where applicable, and third-party systems.
• Perform design self-checks and peer reviews to verify technical accuracy, constructability, consistency, and compliance before release.
• Manage assigned engineering deliverables against project priorities, milestones, and revision cycles while communicating status and risks promptly.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, application engineers, software engineers, panel builders, field teams, and remote engineering teams.
• Contribute to standardization, reusable design libraries, lessons learned, and continuous improvement of hardwire design practices.
