Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician in Acapulco, Guerrero, to lead complex genomic and proteomic data analyses within our R&D team. You will design and implement computational methods to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets, collaborating closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate data into testable hypotheses.

Formación

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with large-scale genomic/proteomic data.
• Proficiency in Python, R, Perl, or Java.
• Strong experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser) and statistical software.
• Familiarity with NGS data analysis platforms and HPC environments.
• Solid understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and/or proteomics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with data visualization is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze NGS data (genomes, exomes, RNA-seq) and perform comparative genomics.
• Develop computational pipelines for proteomic and transcriptomic data analysis.
• Integrate multi-omics data to derive biological insights.
• Build and apply statistical and ML models for biomarker discovery and disease subtyping.
• Collaborate with wet-lab researchers and clinicians to plan experiments.
• Maintain and improve bioinformatics databases and tools.
• Present findings at internal and external meetings.
