• Design and architect enterprise backup and storage solutions across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Develop roadmaps, standards, and guidelines for backup/storage systems.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, applications, security, and operations teams to integrate backup/storage solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the backup/storage domain.
• Ensure compliance with data retention, DR objectives, and regulatory requirements.

Job Summary

As a Backup & Storage Product Architect at Jabil, Inc., you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of robust, scalable, and secure backup and storage solutions across our global infrastructure. You will drive innovation, define architectural standards, and provide expert guidance to ensure optimal data protection, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-level backup and storage solutions, encompassing on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Evaluate and recommend new backup and storage technologies, platforms, and vendors to meet evolving business needs and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps, standards, policies, and guidelines for backup and storage systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, applications, security, and operations, to integrate backup and storage solutions seamlessly.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and administrators within the backup and storage domain.
• Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and troubleshooting for complex backup and storage issues.
• Ensure compliance with data retention policies, disaster recovery objectives, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for backup and storage processes, automation, and efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships and engage in technical discussions to influence product roadmaps and support.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all backup and storage architectures and configurations.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure with a strong focus on backup and storage technologies.
• Proven experience as an architect or lead engineer designing and implementing large-scale enterprise backup and storage solutions.
• Deep expertise in various backup technologies (e.g., Commvault) and their underlying architectures.
• Extensive knowledge of storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), object storage (e.g., S3).
• Strong understanding of cloud storage services (AWS S3, Azure Blob) and cloud-native backup strategies.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) for managing and orchestrating backup and storage operations.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and data replication strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Commvault Certified Engineer, VCP-DCV, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Fluent English is a must.
