Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Welding and Assembly Engineering Specialist for our Saltillo, Coahuila facility. You will oversee welding processes, optimize robotic systems, and design efficient assembly lines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Welding, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, 5+ years in welding and automotive assembly, and strong leadership. You will ensure safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on welding engineering and assembly experience.
• Deep understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and weld quality.
• Experience with robotic welding and automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Knowledge of NDT methods is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Based in Saltillo or willing to relocate to Saltillo, Coahuila.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain advanced welding processes (MIG, TIG, spot welding, laser welding).
• Optimize robotic welding systems for efficiency, quality, and cycle time reduction.
• Design and troubleshoot assembly line processes, ensuring smooth and efficient product flow.
• Establish and enforce welding standards and quality control procedures.
• Conduct weld inspections and testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on new product introductions and DFMs.
• Lead projects to improve welding and assembly technology and reduce costs.
• Provide technical expertise and training to welding and assembly personnel.
• Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
