Amazon seeks an Automation Engineer for Reliability Maintenance Engineering in Mexico. You will be the site SME for controls systems, fault-find, and improve automation across conveyors and handling equipment.

You will train technicians, support global control networks, and help document systems while coordinating installation and commissioning of new equipment across Mexico.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with PLC automation.
• Experience with conveyor systems.
• Experience estimating material handling and storage systems.
• Strong English communication (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with industrial control systems is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Be the site SME for all controls systems and sensors; monitor, fault-find and repair to maximize equipment availability.
• Train technicians in basic control systems fault finding to raise site knowledge.
• Collaborate with Global Controls network to monitor MHE metrics and provide data visualization and troubleshooting insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects within Global Controls network.
• Ensure accurate documentation and backup libraries for all systems; coordinate with Global Controls Engineering and Operations.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment across sites in Mexico.

Join us in the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. We maintain and optimize technologies in the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.
We are looking for motivated, customer-focused people who want to join our team as an Automation Engineer (AE). The focus of the AE role is to fault find, troubleshoot and improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, scales, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems, and control cabinets. The AE will also provide training to the Engineering Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Key job responsibilities

• Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building. Work in a hands-on manner to actively monitor, fault find and repair systems in order to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
• Train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding in order to raise the level of knowledge within the site.
• Work within the Global Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers by means of troubleshooting and prioritizing.
• Actively participate in or own continuous improvement projects coordinated by the Global Controls network.
• Work with Global Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering to ensure all systems are correctly documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained.
• Work alongside global teams to support the installation and commission of new equipment.
• Support other sites in the Mexico network as required.
• Interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings plus understanding and developing improvement strategies for code conforming.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment
• 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience
• Experience in engineering and estimating material handling and storage systems
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dealing with material handling, flow and capacity
• Experience with Industrial control systems, both hardware and software
