Job summary

Tetra Pak in Mexico City (Polanco) seeks an Automation and Digital Business Development Specialist to drive growth, identify opportunities, and support account managers. You will promote Automation and Digital Solutions across Processing, Packaging and Services, reporting to the Automation and Digital Business Development Manager Americas.

Travel up to 50% is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with local and global teams, solution selling, and building strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; experience in industrial automation for food and beverage.
• 3–5 years in sales support, portfolio management and business development within Automation and Digital Solutions.
• Understanding of OT technologies and IT, virtualization, MES and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with Automation & Digital solutions (PLC & HMI / MES / MOM / ERP Integration/ IIoT).
• 3–5 years experience with digital solutions across the full lifecycle—from value selling to implementation.

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Automation and Digital Business Development Specialist for Mexico to join our Automation and Digital Americas team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new opportunities, and working closely with account managers to support Mexico market. Your focus will be on promoting Automation and Digital Solutions across all three business areas: Processing, Packaging, and Services. You will report directly to the Automation and Digital Business Development Manager Americas. This role provides expertise and sales support to account managers through the entire sales process (understand customer needs, create solution, convey the value). You will be travelling up to 50% of your time. The position is based in Polanco, Mexico City. Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What You Will Do

• Support the development and execution of the Automation & Digital sales strategy for Mexico, driving proactive growth initiatives and differentiating our approach across local markets.
• Contribute to the go-to-market strategy for Automation & Digital Solutions, including the localization and deployment of global initiatives.
• Drive business development activities by engaging prospects, understanding customer needs, creating opportunities, and increasing awareness and knowledge sharing within the sales community.
• Support on the entire sales process (understand customer needs, create solution, convey the value).
• Contribute to opportunity qualification, Pre-Project discussions, and commercial strategy development for potential opportunities.
• Participate in sales meeting with Account Managers and different Customers Stakeholders demonstrating value proposition and generating leads and opportunities for Automation and Digital Solutions.
• Act as part of the Automation & Digital network, collaborating closely with local resources and global teams to share best practices and drive business growth.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sales, customers, decision-makers, technical experts, and cross-functional internal teams.
• Monitor, track, and report on key performance indicators, sales activities, and opportunity pipeline development.

Profile Description

We believe you have

• Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering and proven experience in the industrial automation sector for food and beverage.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in sales support, experience in portfolio management and business development within Automation and Digital Solutions.
• Proven understanding of Operational Technology (OT) technologies such as PLCs, SCADAs, programming, and commissioning activities.
• Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), virtualization, and industrial network.
• Familiarity in the implementation of Automation and Digital solutions (PLC & HMI / MES / MOM / ERP Integration/ IIoT) is required.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working with digital solutions and technologies across the full lifecycle—from value selling to implementation.
• Knowledge about Tetra Pak Automation Platform is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.
