Responsibilities
- Identify customer needs and help customers use specific features.
- Analyze and report product malfunctions (e.g., by testing scenarios or impersonating users).
- Update internal databases with information about technical issues and useful discussions with customers.
- Monitor customer complaints and reach out to provide assistance.
- Share feature requests and effective workarounds with team members.
- Follow up with customers to ensure their technical issues are resolved.
- Gather customer feedback and share it with internal teams.
Requirements
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
- Experience as a Customer Support Specialist or similar CS role.
- Proficiency using PC and Mac systems and other mobile operating systems.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Critical thinking, effective listening, proactive, patient with tough cases, multi-tasking, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills.

Summary
Carel is looking for an outgoing, customer service-minded individual with strong HVAC knowledge to provide technical assistance to Carel customers, educate users, address concerns, and document interactions. This role interfaces with teams developing new products and revisions, leveraging end-user feedback. Attention to detail and strong communication are essential.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for CAREL products to customers (OEM partners, resellers, field technicians, end users).
- Address, resolve, and document customer complaints related to CAREL products and services.
- Evaluate returned products to determine failure modes and document findings.
- Participate in teams to develop, launch, and support new products and revisions.
Qualifications
- Education: Mechanical, Mecatronic, Electronic Engineering Degree or Associate/Technical certificate; HVAC/refrigeration experience desired.
- Language: Strong written and verbal English.
- Math: Basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
- Reasoning: Practical problem-solving skills with high technical aptitude.
- Certificates: Valid driver’s license; HVAC/R or ASHRAE certifications are a plus.
Physical demands & environment
- Physical demands typical of office work; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; vision and hearing requirements described.
- Working with electronics, electrical circuits, mechanical and pneumatic systems relevant to HVAC/refrigeration.
- Work environment includes moving parts; reasonable accommodations available; travel up to 20%.
