Job summary

Metalsa in Monterrey, Mexico, seeks a Temporary Fixed Assets & Projects Specialist for a 7-month assignment. You will manage fixed assets, tooling, lease accounting, and capex/opex forecasting across plants, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The role requires IFRS 16 knowledge, Excel expertise, and experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle Fixed Assets/Projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for timely closures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
2–4 years in fixed assets or project accounting in manufacturing.
Knowledge of IAS 16 or IFRS 16 standards.
Experience with CAPEX/OPEX and budgeting.

Responsibilities

Execute fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, capitalization, and depreciation.
Reconcile Fixed Asset Register with General Ledger and maintain docs.
Control CAPEX/OPEX budgets, expenditures, forecasts, and capitalization decisions.
Monitor construction in progress and project aging; ensure timely closure.
Manage tooling project costs, billing, collections, and cash flow.
Process IFRS 16 lease additions and changes; reconcile right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
Coordinate physical inventories and support audits.
Prepare financial reports and variance analyses with plant teams.
