Job summary

Vertiv in Monterrey, MX, seeks a knowledgeable Fixed Assets / CAPEX Accountant to oversee the complete asset lifecycle for Mexico Maquila entities. You will manage capitalization, depreciation, CIP, asset tracking, and reporting, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Tax, and Finance to ensure accurate accounting.

You will lead asset disposals, audits support, and monthly depreciation runs, while maintaining documentation and controls across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• 3+ years in Fixed Assets, CAPEX, or general accounting.
• Experience with fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and lifecycle management.
• Experience managing CIP and capital projects.
• Strong ERP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Capital Tracker and CIP records for maquila entities.
• Coordinate capitalization of fixed assets and capital projects with plant operations.
• Monitor and manage CAPEX projects, incl. cash flow forecasting.
• Prepare and analyze Fixed Asset and CIP reports for management.
• Execute asset additions, transfers, reclassifications, capitalizations, and disposals.
• Manage physical inventory of fixed assets, including tagging and audits.
• Review obsolete or fully depreciated assets and document validation.
• Perform monthly depreciation runs and FA reconciliations.
• Maintain documentation for fixed assets and capital projects.
• Track POs, invoices, and payments related to capital projects.
• Support audits, tax requirements, and government incentives.
• Lead periodic reviews with plant teams on project status.

Job Description

Brief Job Description: Responsible for overseeing the full Fixed Assets and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) lifecycle for the Mexico Maquila entities, including capital project tracking, asset capitalization, depreciation, physical asset control, disposals, reporting, compliance, and support for audits and special projects. The role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Tax, and Finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and effective management of capital investments

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

• Maintain and update the Capital Tracker and Construction in Progress (CIP) records for all maquila entities.
• Coordinate the capitalization of fixed assets and capital projects with plant and operations teams.
• Monitor and manage CAPEX projects, including investment tracking and cash flow forecasting.
• Prepare and analyze Fixed Asset and CIP reports for management and business partners.
• Execute asset additions, transfers, reclassifications, capitalizations, and disposals.
• Manage the physical inventory of fixed assets, including tagging, location verification, and asset audits.
• Review and clean up obsolete, missing, and fully depreciated assets, ensuring proper documentation and physical validation.
• Perform monthly depreciation runs and fixed asset account reconciliations.
• Maintain complete supporting documentation for fixed assets and capital projects, including invoices, contracts, photos, and approvals.
• Track and support purchase orders, invoices, and payments related to capital projects.
• Support audits, tax requirements, government incentive programs, and special projects related to fixed assets.
• Lead periodic meetings with plant teams to review project status and ensure timely capitalization of completed projects.

Qualifications

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Fixed Assets, CAPEX, or General Accounting
• Experience with fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience managing Construction in Progress (CIP) and capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting audits and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
