Job summary

Danfoss in Mexico is seeking an Application Engineering Manager, HVAC/R, to lead a team serving Food Retail and Industrial Refrigeration customers. You will align customer needs with technical expertise to drive growth across Mexico and support North America, shaping product improvements with market insights.

You will coach a high-performing team, collaborate with sales and global product groups, and ensure superior customer support and operational excellence in a sustainable growth agenda.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Travel regionally (and sometimes internationally) – approx. 40%.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Onsite availability at Apodaca facility, Mexico.

As the Application Engineering Manager, HVAC/R, you will lead a talented team of application engineers and technical support professionals who play a critical role in helping customers successfully apply our Food Retail and Industrial Refrigeration solutions.

In this role, you will connect customer needs, business priorities, and technical expertise to drive growth across Mexico while supporting key customers throughout North America. Your leadership will help customers solve complex challenges, improve system performance, and maximize the value of Danfoss technologies.

You will also serve as a key voice between the market and our global teams, ensuring that customer insights help shape product improvements, innovation, and future solutions. Through your leadership, coaching, and strategic direction, you’ll help build a high-performing organization focused on customer success, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the Application Engineering and Technical Support teams across Mexico and the United States, developing talent, strengthening capabilities, and delivering exceptional customer support.
• Partner with sales and key account teams to support customer projects, expand market opportunities, and accelerate growth within Food Retail and Industrial Refrigeration markets.
• Guide technical solution development, product application, and qualification activities to help customers achieve reliable and efficient system performance.
• Drive effective customer support processes, including installation support, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and collaboration with global product, quality, and engineering teams.
• Build scalable tools, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance responsiveness, consistency, and customer satisfaction across the region.

Required Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years experience in HVAC/Refrigeration
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred (additional industry experience can compensate)
• Willing and able to travel regionally (and sometimes internationally) - approximately 40% travel required
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Onsite availability at our facility in Apodaca, Mexico

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated people-management experience, including leading through other managers, performance management, coaching, competency development, resource planning, and succession planning
• Account management and business processes tool experience desirable
• Global experience preferable
