PALO IT in Mexico is seeking an Android Developer (Kotlin) to build high-impact mobile experiences with a strong focus on quality, performance, and UX. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, production-ready apps.

You will have autonomy to drive initiatives end-to-end, maintaining high engineering standards and clear communication that minimizes rework. Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, with strong command of advanced language

• Expert-level Kotlin with advanced concepts.
• Strong experience in Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views/XML.
• Solid knowledge of MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Hands-on persistence with Room/Realm or similar.

• Build Android applications with Kotlin, focusing on quality, performance and UX.
• Design, develop, and maintain interfaces using Jetpack Compose and/or XML views.
• Apply MVVM or Clean Architecture for maintainable codebases.
• Manage data persistence using Room/Realm and other local storage.
• Implement concurrency with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Integrate RESTful APIs with OAuth/JWT authentication and resilient error handling.
• Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Support full lifecycle: Google Play Console, releases, monitoring and hotfixes.

Your Role
As an Android Developer (Kotlin), you will build high-impact mobile experiences with a strong focus on quality, performance, and UX. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, production-ready apps. You will have autonomy to drive initiatives end-to-end, maintaining high engineering standards and clear communication that minimizes rework.

Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, with strong command of advanced language concepts.

Build interfaces using Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based Views, prioritizing visual consistency, accessibility, and an excellent user experience.

Define and apply maintainable architectures such as MVVM and/or Clean Architecture (clear layers, responsibilities, and testability).

Manage data persistence and storage strategies using Room, Realm, or advanced local storage approaches.

Implement concurrency using Kotlin Coroutines and/or Flow to ensure smooth performance and responsiveness.

Integrate RESTful APIs, including authentication (OAuth/JWT), error handling, retries, and request optimization (caching, throttling when applicable).

Actively participate in code reviews, refactoring, and continuous improvement of the codebase.

Support the full lifecycle: Google Play Console, Android releases, publishing, monitoring, hotfixes, and post-release enhancements.

Identify technical risks and propose alternatives when requirements impact performance or feasibility, communicating clearly with a value-driven mindset.

Who You Are

Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and its advanced concepts.

Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and/or traditional Android Views/XML (able to choose the right approach depending on the use case).

Solid knowledge of architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.

Hands-on experience with local persistence using Room, Realm, or other robust strategies.

Strong concurrency skills using Kotlin Coroutines and/or Flow.

Experience consuming RESTful APIs and integrating authentication (OAuth, JWT) following security best practices.

Familiarity with the Android ecosystem: Google Play Console, release processes, publishing, and ongoing maintenance.

Able to solve complex problems end-to-end with minimal supervision.

High attention to detail and strong standards for visual quality, UX, and final polish.

Critical thinking to challenge requirements when they impact performance/feasibility, and propose better solutions.

Assertive, precise communication focused on concrete actions and reducing rework.
