You will advise on employee relations, terminations, and contract negotiations, represent the company in labor disputes, and collaborate with external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of labor and employment law experience with a litigation focus.
• Licensed to practice law in Mexico and bar admission required.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican Federal Labor Law and related regulations.
• Experience representing employers in labor court and administrative proceedings.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating employment contracts and settlements.
• Strong HR practices and employee relations understanding.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a demanding caseload.
• Proficiency in English is highly desirable.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing organization, is seeking a seasoned Senior Labor Lawyer with extensive experience in litigation to join its legal team. This fully remote position is crucial for managing all aspects of employment law, advising on employee relations, and representing the company in labor disputes. You will play a key role in developing and implementing HR policies and ensuring compliance with labor legislation across the country. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of Mexican labor and employment law.
• Represent the company in labor arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and court litigation.
• Develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws.
• Advise on employee relations, terminations, disciplinary actions, and contract negotiations.
• Conduct internal investigations into workplace grievances and alleged misconduct.
• Oversee the drafting and review of employment agreements, collective bargaining agreements, and other HR-related documents.
• Stay current with changes in labor legislation and provide proactive guidance to management.
• Manage relationships with external labor counsel when necessary.
• Conduct legal training sessions for HR personnel and management on labor law topics.
• Mitigate legal risks associated with employment practices and ensure a fair and equitable workplace.

Requirements

• Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) from a highly regarded institution; admission to the Mexican Bar is mandatory.
• Minimum of 6 years of specialized experience in labor and employment law, with a strong emphasis on litigation and dispute resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of Mexican Federal Labor Law and related regulations.
• Proven track record of successfully representing employers in labor court and administrative proceedings.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating employment contracts and settlement agreements.
• Strong understanding of HR best practices and employee relations.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload in a remote setting.
