Job summary

Cobalto Talent in LATAM is seeking a highly accurate Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day US-based accounting using AI-assisted automation. You will control A/P and A/R, reconcile banks, and maintain the general ledger with a focus on automation and data integrity.

This remote role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, exposure to cloud accounting platforms like QuickBooks Online and Xero, and collaboration with CPAs during tax season.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper or transactional accounting professional supporting U.S.-based companies.
• Hands-on expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO certification is a major plus) or Xero.
• Practical experience using AI-powered OCR, receipt scanners, and automated accounting workflows.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and process-improvement mindset.
• Advanced English (B2/C1) for communicating with US vendors and teams.
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills.

About the Role We are looking for a highly accurate and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial transactions for US-based businesses. In this role, you will not just be doing manual data entry; you will leverage modern cloud accounting software and AI-assisted automation tools to process transactions faster and with zero errors. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who loves numbers, values data integrity, and knows how to use technology to eliminate repetitive administrative work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), using AI-powered OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tools to capture and code invoices automatically.
• Perform daily and monthly bank, credit card, and payment gateway reconciliations, setting up and training intelligent machine-learning rules within the accounting software to automate categorizations.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, focusing on exception-handling rather than manual data entry.
• Utilize automated follow-up systems and AI drafting tools to manage collections and vendor communications professionally and efficiently.
• Process expense reports and manage vendor records using integrated tech-stack solutions (e.g., Bill.com, Dext, Hubdoc).
• Prepare basic monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) and assist external CPAs with tax season preparation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar transactional accounting role for US-based companies.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with industry‑standard accounting software, specifically QuickBooks Online (QBO certification is a major plus) or Xero.
• Practical experience implementing and managing AI-driven receipt scanners, OCR software, and automated A/P & A/R workflows.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a mindset geared towards continuous process improvement.
• Advanced English proficiency (B2/C1) to communicate effectively with US vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for data manipulation.
