Job summary

Vectrus, Inc. in Kuwait City seeks a VTC Technician to operate and support VTC conferences, including consoles, codecs, Crestrons, and related AV equipment, reporting to the Site Manager. The role requires readiness for 24/7 coverage.

The candidate must have an active Secret Clearance, a High School diploma or GED, and at least five years of experience in Video Teleconferencing or AV productions. This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus, and a tuition

Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Requires an active Secret Clearance.
• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Video Teleconferencing or Audio Video Productions; rotating 24/7 shifts; customer-service experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with customers to ensure equipment is operational.
• Sets up and operates VTC equipment.
• Establishes end-to-end secure and non-secure connectivity to support conferences.
• Establishes proper cable connections and routing for AV and communications links.
• Adjusts sound and lighting for optimal equipment performance and customer comfort.
• Troubleshoots VTC and connectivity with local and remote support to restore communications.
• Maintains and troubleshoots codecs and Crestrons; firmware and timing configurations.
• Performs weekly maintenance on VTC equipment and operates the VTC Bridge.

The VTC Technician conducts VTC conferences, operates VTC equipment such as VTC conferencing equipment, consoles, Digital Video Recorders (DVD), cameras, microphones, desktop and laptop computers supporting VTC events. The VTC Technician reports to the Site Manager as required. Program: OMDAC-SWACA.

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country to include but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a host nation visa and host nation driver’s license in order to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with customers to endure equipment is operational.
• Sets-up and operates VTC equipment.
• Establishes end-to-end secure and non-secure connectivity to support conferences.
• Establishes proper cable connection and routing to various Audio/Video and communication links.
• Adjusts sound and light levels for optimum performance of equipment and comfort of customers.
• Troubleshoots VTC and connectivity problems with local and distant end technical control facilities and Service Desk to restore communication and resolve poor reception/transmission issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment; configures, modems and data timing and transfer rates.
• Resolves connectivity problems with technical personnel.
• Performs weekly maintenance on all associated VTC equipment.
• Operates, administers, and maintains the VTC Bridge. Required to manipulate the bridge to provide technical support for all VTC circuits attached.
• Performs other duties and assignments assigned.

• Security Clearance:
  • Requires an active Secret Clearance
• Education/Certifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree for three years general experience.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Video Teleconferencing or Audio Video Productions.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24-hour day, 7-day week coverage.
  • Experience with a customer service-oriented company.
• Skills & Technology Used:
  • Proficiency in using a computer - desktop or laptop.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft productivity software.
  • Proficiency in using Email client software.
  • Proficiency in operating & troubleshooting Codecs & Crestrons

Working Environment

• The work environment will be 95% indoors and 5% outdoors.
• The outdoor work environment may exceed temperatures 100 degrees F. Candidate must be able to physically withstand extreme heat.

Physical Activities

• Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be capable of wearing Perssonal Protective Equipment (helmet and plated vest). which can weigh 25 to 40 lbs, for extended periods of time.
