Job summary

V2X, Inc. is seeking a Network Administrator I for field support of the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) to assist USARCENT and CJTF. The role includes setup, operation, and maintenance of GBS, with in-the-field support and deployment readiness across the AOR.

Qualifications

• Must have active Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570.01M baseline CE certifications required; at least one CE and one baseline certification.
• Associate degree preferred; one year related experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, maintain the GBS equipment suite in field environments.
• Provide technical support to USARCENT and CJTF staff and civilian components.
• Configure and operate RBM/JIPM and use GUS software for satellite data control.
• Set TCP/IP parameters on GBS equipment and troubleshoot network issues.
• Install, repair, and test Ethernet cabling; configure switches and firewalls.
• Report outages per Vectrus/USANEC-A guidelines; assist deployments as required.

The Network Administrator I GBS will setup, operate, maintain and provide technical support of the Global Broadcast Service suite in support of United States Army Central (USARCENT) and Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF). The position provides “in the field” support on the GBS system to USARCENT. Assist project managers, Communication Electronic Command representatives, and other technicians in the maintenance, troubleshooting and deployment of the GBS system.

Personnel must exhibit sound judgment and maturity to interact with senior officers, NCOs, and DOD civilians. Being able to work in a team environment is paramount. Technicians are subject to deployments throughout the AOR as required.

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country to include but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a host nation visa and host nation driver’s license in order to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

• Transport, setup, and take down the GBS receive equipment suite.
• Provide technical assistance on the GBS suite to military and civilian component staff.
• Program and operate the GBS Remote Broadcast Manager (RBM) and Joint Internet Protocol Modem (JIPM).
• Use GBS User Specific (GUS) communication software to control and monitor satellite information.
• Set and modify TCP/IP parameters on all GBS specific equipment.
• Resolve customer interface/user issues.
• Build, install, troubleshoot, and repair Ethernet cables.
• Configure and maintain network switches and firewalls used by the GBS suite.
• Connect the GBS suite to standalone NIPR and SIPR computers.
• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve satellite communication issues.
• Report on GBS outages according to Vectrus/USANEC-A guidelines.
• Program and connect Set Top Box (STB) to user video displays.
• Program and operate the KG-250 encryption device.
• Performs other duties and assignments assigned.

  • Requires an active Secret Clearance.
• Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field is preferred.
  • This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (helmet and plated vest) which can weigh 25 to 40lbs, for extended periods of time.
