Job summary

Vectrus, Inc is seeking an experienced network engineer in Kuwait to maintain and optimize critical WAN/LAN infrastructure across the Southwest Asia region. The role requires 10+ years of hands-on experience with routing, switching, MPLS, VRF, and related protocols, plus DoD 8570 baseline certifications and an active Secret clearance.

You will configure OSPF/EIGRP/BGP, perform capacity planning, ensure STIG alignment, and document all network assets and changes.

Qualifications

• Requires active Secret Clearance and DoD 8570.01M baseline certifications.
• Associates degree or equivalent with extensive networking background required.
• 10+ years of practical network and systems experience with routing, switching, VRF, MPLS, and layer 2 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate routers and switches across Southwest Asia; configure OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MP-BGP, DMVPN, MPLS, VRF and QoS.
• Troubleshoot DMVPN phases 1-3 and identify network problems.
• Evaluate performance, adjust hardware/software to optimize network performance.
• Perform regular system maintenance for IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
• Plan capacity for data, voice, and video networks; monitor WAN availability with DX NetOps Spectrum, SolarWinds Orion, and Cisco DNA Center.
• Adhere to DISA STIGs; document builds, tests, and security practices.
• Create/update network diagrams; track issues via ServiceNow; handle other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining and operating routers and switches throughout the Southwest Asia Area of Responsibility. Configures OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MP-BGP, DMVPN, MPLS, VRF and QoS.
• Identify problems and troubleshoot DMVPN phases 1-3.
• Evaluates network performance and adjusts the network infrastructure hardware and software to include, but not limited to, routers, switches, and network management tools, in order to operate and optimize network performance.
• Perform regular system maintenance in support of IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
• Perform capacity planning for communications networks carrying data, voice, and video.
• Monitors availability and reliability of the WAN and supported infrastructure utilizing DX NetOps Spectrum, SolarWinds Orion and Cisco DNA Center.
• Executes engineering best practices in network builds, integration, testing, and documentation while adhering to security fundamentals provided by DISA’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Ensure that all managed technologies are compliant with current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Assist with identifying and investigating malicious network activity.
• Create, update, and maintain detailed network diagrams.
• Create and track network issues/requests using the ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance:
  • Requires an active Secret Clearance
• Education / Certifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field.
  • This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

  • At least 10 years of practical experience working with network and systems technologies.
  • A high level of understanding and experience with data network systems, routing, switching, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), MPLS, and layer 2 protocols.
  • Experience with VPN technologies.
  • A solid background with TCP/IP and must be able to troubleshoot all supported network protocols.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining custom python scripts.
  • Experience working with and maintaining Cisco DNA Center
  • Experience with a customer service-oriented company.
