Job summary

Confidential seeks an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Kuwait-based 400 kV OHL project. Immediate joining with 5+ years HV/OHL safety expertise and strong regulatory knowledge is required.

The role focuses on implementing the HSE plan, conducting inspections, training, and maintaining comprehensive safety records on site, including lifting and electrical safety procedures. Kuwait- based, outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HSE experience in HV/OHL or similar construction projects.
• Experience with 400 kV transmission line projects is highly preferred.
• NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA or equivalent certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project HSE plan, procedures, and requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections across transmission line work fronts and construction sites.
• Identify hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
• Monitor safety during excavation, foundation works, lifting operations, tower erection, working at height, and conductor/OPGW stringing.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, applicable regulations, and approved procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE awareness training.
• Monitor permit-to-work systems and safe work practices.
• Monitor lifting operations, work-at-height activities, electrical hazards, and site access requirements.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports, risk assessments, inspection records, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with project management, site engineers, subcontractors, and client/consultant HSE teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in similar HV/OHL construction projects.
• Experience in 400 kV transmission line projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, lifting operations, working at height, excavation safety, and electrical safety.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certification is an advantage.
• Strong communication, inspection, reporting, and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a large outdoor/site-based project environment.
• Immediate availability is mandatory.
