Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim is seeking a Department Head for MAF Retail in Kuwait. You will guide department strategy, manage promotions, and oversee pricing and assortment to drive profit and customer satisfaction.

You will lead stock control, reduce waste, ensure hygiene and security, and coach a high-performing team across shifts in a hypermarket setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or retail management required.
• 3+ years in retail with 2+ years in supervisory roles.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.

JOB TITLE

Department Head | MAF Retail | Hypermarket Kuwait

ROLE SUMMARY

The Department Head is responsible to ensure the quality, range and freshness of offered goods to attract and satisfy the customers. The role holder is also responsible for the coordination and communication between Merchandisers and Sales Teams and other relevant service providers within the assigned area.

ROLE PROFILE

• Develop and implement department strategies to maintain a competitive advantage within the store.
• Manage supplier negotiations and internal promotions to strengthen the store's commercial positioning.
• Oversee pricing policies, product assortment, and the profitability of department assets.
• Ensure effective stock management, including inventory control, replenishment, and merchandise deliveries.
• Implement initiatives to reduce waste, shrinkage, and out-of-stock situations.
• Monitor security, hygiene, and customer service standards across the department.
• Supervise staff scheduling and ensure operational efficiency within the department.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members while supporting performance management and succession planning.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the retail industry.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in an operations or supervisory role.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent service orientation.
• Strong time management skills and general product knowledge.
