Position Summary :
The Chemical Engineer is responsible for all chemical activities of the site, managing laboratory operations, ensuring accurate technical analyses, and supervising chemical injection rates and stock management.
This role includes overseeing laboratory staff, driving continuous improvements, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and collaborating with other departments to optimize production processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Act as Head of Treatment Function for the site: define chemical strategy, injection instructions, HSE risks, contractual strategy, etc.
- Control and recommend chemical injection rates for treatment, manage chemical stock, and oversee ordering to optimize costs and performance.
- Implement process improvements, test new products, optimize laboratory procedures, and stay updated with new technologies.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, reporting, safety, efficiency, and compliance with client standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff to ensure high performance and safety adherence.
- Ensure accurate and timely technical analysis and reporting, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with Production, Field Engineers, and HSE teams to provide safety documentation, insights, and support operational strategies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in chemical engineering and/or laboratory supervision within the oil & gas sector.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, chemical injection systems, and equipment management.
