A technology firm is seeking a software engineer in Florence to develop embedded safety-critical software for interlocking systems. The position is hybrid and allows for international collaboration.

Job Objective: The role includes analysis, development, testing, and documentation of embedded safety-critical software for interlocking systems. The candidate will be involved in all phases of the V-model lifecycle, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance (SIL), code quality, and cross-functional collaboration with international teams and suppliers.
- Analyze software and safety requirements (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
- Develop embedded software in C/C++ for real-time systems.
- Produce technical documentation in compliance with SIL standards.
- Participate in software Verification and Validation (V&V) processes, including code review, static analysis, and unit testing.
- Collaborate with system, hardware, and RAMS teams.
- Provide technical interface with international teams and, when required, with certification bodies.
- Master's Degree in Electronic, Computer or Telecommunications Engineering
- Experience with embedded Linux or real-time systems.
- Knowledge of GIT, CMake, and issue tracking tools (Jira, Bitbucket).
- Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools (LDRA, GCC, Parasoft, etc.).
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion).
- Familiarity with CENELEC EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129 standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink is a plus.
- Desirable experience in FPGA software development using HDL languages such as VHDL or Verilog, and related synthesis/simulation tools
- Availability to travel
- Fluency in Italian and English
