Fraunhofer ISIT cerca uno/una Werkstudent per supportare l’unità Power Electronics in progetti di ricerca avanzata. L’incarico prevede attività di analisi, sviluppo e collaborazione con team internazionali nel contesto accademico-industriale.

Il ruolo offre orari flessibili, formazione interna, opportunità di scrivere un dottorato e una chiara possibilità di crescita professionale in un ambiente di ricerca di alto livello.

Competenze

• Master o Dottorato in ingegneria elettrica, power electronics o campo correlato.
• Esperienza nell'applicare tecniche di machine learning a convertitori multilevel (MMC).
• Elevata autonomia, iniziativa e impegno, curiosità e voglia di apprendere.
• Capacità di ambientarsi rapidamente con nuovi problemi e lavorare in team.
• Fluente in inglese scritto e parlato.

Mansioni

• Ricerca su convertitori multilevel modulari e sviluppo SST, con focus su modulazione e controllo.
• Applicazione di tecniche di machine learning (design e controllo).
• Comunicazione interna ed esterna dei risultati e collaborazione con ricercatori del gruppo.
• Sostenere la presenza accademica tramite pubblicazioni e supporto a progetti di ricerca/industria.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT is one of Europe's most modern research institutions for microelectronics and microsystems technology. Approximately 180 employees develop power electronics and microsystems components in Itzehoe and Kiel in close cooperation with industrial partners.

The «Power Electronics» department focuses on developing advanced active and passive power semiconductor components based on silicon and gallium nitride. We also integrate them into power electronic systems and develop battery storage and high-performance storage systems.

• Research in (modular) multilevel power converters and SST development, especially in modulation and control
• Employment of machine learning techniques (design and control)

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a comparable qualification in a related field
• Experience applying machine learning techniques with multilevel converters, ideally MMC
• A high degree of independence, initiative, and commitment combined with a high level of curiosity and willingness to learn
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new problems and to take responsibility in a team environment
• Fluent in spoken and written English
