Ferrari in Maranello, Italy is seeking a Vehicle Methods Engineering Technologist to automate and industrialize vehicle assembly methods from development to production readiness.

You will analyse assembly feasibility across the vehicle using CAD, collaborate with Design on finishes, and develop macro assembly cycles aligned with line constraints. Travel to suppliers is expected.

Competenze

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• At least 3 years of seniority in Manufacturing or R&D.
• Experience with Catia V5 and supplier visits.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and support Design for Manufacturing.

To strengthen our Industrial team, we are looking for a Vehicle Methods Engineering Technologist based in Maranello, Italy.
In this role, you will join the Industrial function and take part in product development activities, supporting the definition, feasibility and industrialization of vehicle assembly methods from the early development phases through production readiness.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

• Analysing in detail the assembly feasibility of components across the entire vehicle through CAD, including exterior finishes, interior finishes, chassis, mechanical units, electrical systems, body and frame.
• Collaborating with the Design department to define the correct breakdown of styling proposals for both interior and exterior finishes.
• Developing the macro assembly cycle for new projects, ensuring consistency with Ferrari assembly line constraints.
• Creating and updating the technological bill of materials.
• Carrying out virtual checks to ensure the correct accessibility of auxiliary equipment and manipulators required to assemble vehicle components.
• Defining assembly methods for all components, which will then be used to prepare gap & flush documentation and 2D drawings.
• Identifying technical solutions that deliver benefits in terms of labour efficiency, assembly simplification and perceived quality.
• Defining Make-or-Buy logics for new projects in line with the vehicle initiative.
• Simplifying the disassembly of the vehicle’s core and highest-value components.
• Preparing operation sheets detailing all assembly phases.
• Proposing project modifications from a Design for Manufacturing perspective, in collaboration with Product Development.

To succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent previous experience in a technical field, together with at least 3 years’ company seniority and experience working closely with the product, preferably within Manufacturing or R&D.
Knowledge of Catia V5 and the availability to travel to suppliers to discuss project progress is also requested for the role.

Compensation Package:
The total compensation package, including gross annual salary and company and/or individual variable components, will range between € 53.000 and € 58.000, paid over 13 monthly instalments. Placement within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and responsibility.
