Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join its Vacuum Technologies R&D team. You will design, analyze, verify, and validate dry scroll and rotary vane pumps, collaborating across design, manufacturing and test to deliver robust products.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Typically 4+ years of relevant experience in mechanical product development, analysis, or validation engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design and development of rotating machinery or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Proficiency with CAD software and structural simulation tools; experience with ANSYS is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for scroll and rotary vane vacuum pumps.
• Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to evaluate strength, stiffness, fatigue life, and reliability of components and systems.
• Conduct rotodynamic analyses to assess vibration behavior, critical speeds, dynamic stability, and overall system performance, with a strong focus on reducing noise and vibration levels.
• Plan, execute, and analyze experimental validation activities to correlate simulation results with physical testing.
• Support noise and vibration investigations through data acquisition and analysis.
• Develop test plans, analyze results, and generate technical reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and drive product improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methodologies, simulation processes, and testing capabilities.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to field and manufacturing issues.
