Job summary

Allozymes is seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join the Vacuum Technologies R&D team. You will design and develop scroll and rotary vane pump components and assemblies, performing FEA and rotordynamics analyses to ensure performance and durability.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, testing and product management through the development lifecycle, applying experimental validation and data analysis to optimize noise and vibration and support continuous process

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 4+ years in mechanical product development, analysis or validation engineering.
• Experience with rotating machinery or electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for scroll and rotary vane vacuum pumps.
• Perform structural analyses using FEA to evaluate strength, stiffness, fatigue life and reliability.
• Conduct rotordynamic analyses to assess vibration, critical speeds and dynamic stability; aim to reduce noise and vibration.
• Plan, execute and analyze experimental validation to correlate simulations with tests.
• Support noise and vibration investigations through data acquisition and analysis.
• Develop test plans, analyze results, and generate technical reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive product improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methodologies, simulation processes and testing capabilities.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to field and manufacturing issues.
