Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Italy's Piemonte region seeks a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer for the Vacuum Technologies R&D team to design, develop, verify and validate dry scroll and rotary vane vacuum pumps.

You will perform structural analysis with FEA, support fluid dynamics and heat transfer studies, conduct experimental validation, and collaborate across disciplines to improve product performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical product development experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and FEA.
• Experience with CAD and ANSYS tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for vacuum pumps.
• Perform structural analyses using FEA to assess strength and reliability.
• Support fluid dynamics and heat transfer analyses for performance evaluation.
• Plan, execute, and analyze experimental validation activities.
• Develop tests to verify structural, thermal, and fluid performance.
• Support noise and vibration investigations through data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
• Contribute to improving simulation methodologies and testing processes.
• Root cause investigations and corrective actions for field issues.
