Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Team Leader Thermal in Piove di Sacco, Italy to manage thermal design projects within the Engineering Department. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate development of Direct Expansion products for data center cooling, and ensure NPDI process compliance while delivering on cost, quality and time targets.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical/Energy Engineering, 10+ years HVAC experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of HVAC experience on similar projects.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.
• Familiarity with CE, MD, PED, LVD, EMC standards.
• Proactive leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the project team for new product development.
• Lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones with Marketing, Sales, Procurement and Industrial Engineering.
• Take operational responsibility for thermodynamic design and performance calculations.
• Ensure NPDI process adherence across projects.
• Develop reporting and tracking programs to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Identify risks and implement contingency plans.
• Communicate with managers, vendors and other plants as required.
• Support product production transfer and BOM management.
