Saipem seeks a Telecommunication & Security Systems Engineer to join the Instrumentation, Control and Telecommunication Engineering Department. As Telecommunication & Security Systems Engineer, you will respond to the Head of Instrumentation, Control and Telecommunication Engineering Department (SMAUT) and be part of the ENERGY CARRIERS (ENCAR) business line, focused mainly on onshore plants and floaters.
As Telecommunication & Security Systems Engineer, you will be involved in project execution, starting from the estimation phase to the engineering design basis definition and the detail design development of Telecommunication and Security Systems (including new technologies application such as patrolling robots and drones, …).
Review, analyze and endorse Client technical documentation and requirements.
Develop Telecommunication and Security Systems technical specification, block diagrams, plant and building equipment layouts, project lists. Define quantities to be procured (MTO) and to be installed (BoQ). Ensure related 3D modelling design activities.
Prepare the technical requisitions both for material and services, perform the technical alignment of bidders, prepare and finalize the technical evaluations.
Monitor and control vendor Telecommunication and Security Systems detail design development, verifying vendor design documentation and guaranteeing compliance with project requirements and project schedule. Attend and perform FAT and SAT, witnessing the compliance of vendor provided systems with project requirements.
Ensure adequate support to other functions and disciplines by actively participating in multidisciplinary reviews, coordinating and expediting the collection of required suppliers information, and providing technical evaluations, cost/schedule estimates and risk assessments to ensure that all engineering decisions are effectively communicated and properly implemented across the project organization.
Support the Project Lead in planning and coordinating both internal and external activities. Coordinate and ensure the execution of specialist engineering activities, monitoring progress against the agreed schedule, analyzing deviations, and identifying and implementing the necessary corrective actions to achieve Project objectives.
Optimize Telecommunication and Security Systems design ensuring minimal cost and complexity in compliance with the contractual and safety requirements. Perform site engineering activities during construction and commissioning phases.
Technical diploma, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in STEM discipline.
At least 5 years of experience as Telecommunication and Security Systems Engineer within the Energy Sector: Power plants, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable or Floaters.
Detailed knowledge, with direct experience with Telecommunication and Security Systems (i.e. CCTV, PA/GA, RADIO, ACS, IDS, FO, SCS, VTS, LAN & WLAN).
Familiar with Telecommunication and Security Systems codes and standards both domestic and international.
Interface himself/herself independently with the other engineering disciplines and with the suppliers, in order to identify optimized solutions from a technical/economical point of view.
Independently capture, analyze and solve interdisciplinary issues affecting telecommunication and security systems scope of work, that may occur during the project activities, properly involving other disciplines/functions.
Knowledge of OT Cyber Security requirements according to both domestic and international codes and standards.
Knowledge of main digital environment used for plant design development and material management in Energy Industry (Aveva, Hexagon, Autodesk).
Strong attitude for working in highly digitized environments, maximizing the use of new technologies to streamline operations.
For home office contract: Pay not lower than 45.000 €
