Britoil Offshore Services Pte Ltd is seeking a Technical Superintendent based in Genoa, Italy, to oversee the technical operation and maintenance of assigned vessels in our offshore fleet.

The role requires planning preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating dry-dockings and repairs, and ensuring compliance with class, flag and industry regulations to keep vessels safe, available and efficient in demanding offshore environments.

Competenze

• Oversight of technical operations, maintenance planning and budgets.
• Inspection activities including class, flag, safety, and internal audits for offshore vessels.
• Knowledge of propulsion systems, machinery and vessel control systems.
• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture is preferred.
• English proficiency; Italian language skills are an advantage.

Role Description

The Technical Superintendent is a full-time, on-site position based in Genoa, Italy, responsible for overseeing the technical operation and maintenance of assigned vessels. This role includes planning and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating dry-dockings and repairs, and ensuring compliance with class, flag, and industry regulations. The Technical Superintendent monitors vessel performance, reviews technical reports, and works closely with shipboard crews to resolve technical issues and maintain high safety and operational standards. The role also involves managing technical budgets, sourcing and evaluating suppliers, and supporting audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Collaboration with other departments and clients is essential to ensure vessels are available, efficient, and fit for purpose in demanding offshore environments.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess Ship Management skills, including technical operations oversight, maintenance planning, and budget control.
• Candidates should possess Maritime and Sailing experience, ideally with time served at sea in engineering roles.
• Candidates should possess experience in Inspection activities, including class, flag, safety, and internal audits for offshore vessels.
• Candidates should possess Marine Engineering knowledge, covering propulsion systems, machinery, and vessel control systems.
• Academic background such as a degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture is accepted also for a Junior Position role;
• Familiarity with international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL) and offshore industry standards is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in English; Italian language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to travel to vessels and shipyards as required and work effectively in a multicultural, safety-focused environment.
