Enterprise Shipping Agency is seeking a Marine Safety Superintendent with tanker sector experience to work with the Technical Department and onboard personnel to uphold international and company standards.

The role involves monitoring compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, and leading safety training for crews, plus coordinating on-site activities and audits. Travel to vessels in the region is expected. Location: Emilia Romagna, Italy.

Competenze

• Experience as Master or Chief Officer on oil/chemical or gas tankers.
• Experience in safety roles ashore.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• EU work permit.

Mansioni

• Monitor and ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS, and MARPOL.
• Coordinate safety activities onboard with Masters and crew.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Deliver training and safety awareness sessions to the crew.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses and non-conformities, proposing improvements.

We are looking for a Marine Safety Superintendent with experience in the tanker sector (oil/chemical and or gas).

The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Department and onboard personnel to ensure compliance with international and company standards.

Key responsabilities:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with international maritime safety regulations (ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL).
• Coordinate safety activities on board, supporting Masters and crew members.
• Conduct internal audit, inspections, and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Collaborate with technical and operational departments to promote a strong safety culture.
• Manage reporting and emergency plans, ensuring high operational standards.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions for the crew on safety and prevention.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformities, developing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support the preparation and management of inspections carried out by maritime authorities and classification societies.
• Contribute to the development and updating of onboard procedures and safety manuals.
• ISPS implementation

Requirements:

• Experience as Master or C/O on oil/chemical or gas tankers
• Experience in Safety roles ashore
• In-depth knowledge of:

1. ISM Code
2. MARPOL / SOLAS
3. ISGOTT
4. SIRE and/or CDI processes

• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage non-conformities
• Familiarity with TMSA
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to travel and attend onboard visits
• Working Permit in EU country
• Relevant HSE certifications (ISM Internal Auditor, DPA, CSO)
