Job summary

Prima, a growing motor insurance company, is seeking a Tax Specialist to join the Finance Team in Italy. You will support tax compliance, handle VAT processes, and contribute to transfer pricing documentation in a fast-paced international environment.

The role requires 1–2 years in Tax, a degree in Economics or Law, strong English, and solid Excel skills. Local and international tax work offers growth and exposure within the CFO area.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in Tax, in a tax firm or similar.
• Academic background in Economics, Law or related field, focused on Tax Law.
• Strong interest in taxation and career in Tax field.
• Good knowledge of English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Support the Group Tax Manager in accurate calculation of taxes and preparation of local tax returns, with focus on corporate income tax and VAT compliance.
• Manage day-to-day VAT processes and ensure timely execution.
• Assist with the Group’s transfer pricing documentation.
• Monitor tax and regulatory developments impacting compliance and Group matters.
• Liaise with external tax advisors on compliance activities and tax-related matters.
• Contribute to standardization and automation of tax processes.
• Support tax projects and ad hoc analyses for the business teams.

To help fuel that growth, we need a Tax Specialist to join our Finance Team. This team helps shape a safe, ethical and sustainable Prima.

As part of this team, you’ll be responsible for supporting tax compliance, international tax matters and tax risk management across the Prima Group, working closely with the Global Tax Manager, in the CFO area. You’ll be able to have visibility and work together with colleagues with expertise in accounting, finance and strategy as well with business functions.

What you’ll do

• Support the Group Tax Manager in the accurate calculation of taxes and preparation of local tax returns, with particular focus on periodic and annual corporate income tax and VAT compliance requirements.

• Manage day-to-day activities and compliance requirements related to VAT processes, ensuring accurate and timely execution.

• Support the preparation of the Group’s transfer pricing documentation.

• Monitor tax and regulatory developments that may impact tax compliance requirements and, more broadly, the Group’s tax matters.

• Liaise with external tax advisors to manage tax compliance activities and key tax-related matters.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement, standardization, and efficiency of tax processes, identifying opportunities for simplification and automation.

• Support the Tax team and all business teams on specific tax projects and ad hoc tax analyses.

What we’re looking for

• 1–2 years of experience in Tax, gained within a tax and law firm, Big Four or a similar professional environment.

• Academic background in Economics, Law or a related field, ideally with a focus on Tax Law.

• Strong interest in taxation and motivation to build a career in the Tax field.

• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Previous exposure to corporate tax, VAT and/or tax compliance activities.

• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite.

• Currently undertaking a professional traineeship to qualify as a Chartered Accountant or Lawyer.
