Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks an Enterprise Land Mobile Radio (ELMR) Systems Engineer in Sigonella, Italy, to administer ELMR radios, subsystems, peripherals and firmware. You will support CNIC N6, ensuring effective configuration, testing, and maintenance of ELMR infrastructure and related DBIDS and PSNet transport.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and DoD IAT Level II or Security+ certification, with at least eight years of DoD experience.

Qualifications

• Travel up to 10% is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems support including programming, configuration, and testing of ELMR radios, sub-components, peripherals, and firmware.
• Assist in implementing, administering, testing, maintaining and upgrading ELMR management client software and device programming stations.
• Assist in design, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and upgrading of ELMR infrastructure towers with RF and network components.
• Address ELMR trouble tickets and troubleshoot ELMR radios and DBIDS systems.
• Coordinate with facility personnel to develop and test ELMR-related requirements for radios, infrastructure, DBIDS, and PSNet transport.
• Coordinate with DBIDS/ELMR infrastructure providers to patch and upgrade infrastructure-related ELMR and DBIDS systems.
• Develop and maintain DBIDS and ELMR O&M training documents.
• Provide SME input for E3 certification of DBIDS/ELMR infrastructure.

CNIC Regional Offices enable improving operational performance and cost reductions through business process definition, analysis, and development of technical capabilities which automate process or improve transparency for analytics and decision making. The CNIC N6 ELMR SE is responsible for the administration of ELMR radios, its sub-components and peripherals, and its firmware, within the installation.

In this role, you will:

• Provide systems support to include programming, configuration, and testing of ELMR radios, its sub-components, peripherals, and firmware.
• Provide assistance in the implementation, administration, testing, maintenance and upgrade of the ELMR management client software and Device programming stations.
• Provide assistance in the design, installation, inspection, test, maintenance and upgrade of the ELMR infrastructure towers to include Radio Frequency (RF) components and network components.
• Address ELMR trouble tickets and troubleshoot issues with ELMR radios and DBIDS systems.
• Coordinate with facility personnel in developing, implementing, testing and troubleshooting facility related requirements in support of the ELMR radios and its peripherals, ELMR infrastructure, DBIDS and PSNet transport.
• Coordinate and provide assistance, when needed, to the DBIDS, ELMR infrastructure provider and ELMR transport provider to patch and upgrade infrastructure related ELMR and DBIDS systems.
• Develop, edit and maintain DBIDS and ELMR Operation & Maintenance (O&M) training documents or information.
• Provide the DBIDS and ELMR subject matter expertise to support in the DBIDS and ELMR infrastructure Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) certification process.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active DoD Secret clearance
• U.S Citizenship
• Active 8570 DoD IAT Level II or Security+ certification
• High School Diploma
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant DoD experience
• Minimum 2 years experience with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various ELMR radios such as APX, MCC, XTL, SRX radios, and KVL loaders
• Experience with PSNet providing Tier 1 type of support
• Working knowledge and experience with WiFi, Wireless Access Points (WAP), wireless controllers, Ethernet cabling, and handheld scanners
• Up to 10% travel
• Valid U.S Passport
