Job summary

Nutanix in Milan is seeking a Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) to support enterprise accounts in Italy. You will partner with Sales to translate customer challenges into Nutanix-based hybrid multicloud solutions, guiding infrastructure modernization and AI deployment.

You will lead technical engagements across requirements discovery, solution design, and PoCs, communicating the value of cloud-native platforms to executives while operating in a hybrid work model with occasional onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing technical pre-sales role for enterprise accounts.

• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and data center infrastructure.
• Strong background in cloud transformation, containerization (Kubernetes), and enterprise AI deployment.

Nutanix is looking for a Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) to support our Enterprise accounts in Italy, based in Milan. In this role, you will be a trusted technical advisor, working closely with Sales to understand customer challenges and design solutions that leverage Nutanix's hybrid multicloud platform. You will play a critical role in guiding enterprise organizations through their infrastructure modernization, cloud-native adoption, and AI transformation journeys, acting in a consultative capacity and being recognized as a technical expert by customers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

Your Role

Act as the primary technical pre-sales advisor for assigned Enterprise accounts across Italy, partnering with Sales to drive growth and architectural adoption.

Understand customer business drivers and translate them into effective Nutanix-based hybrid cloud, containerization, and AI infrastructure solutions.

Provide technical leadership across the sales cycle, including requirements discovery, solution design, executive presentations, and proposal development.

Clearly articulate the value, features, and benefits of Nutanix products—including cloud-native container platforms, enterprise AI deployment frameworks, and data sovereignty architecture—to technical and executive audiences.

Design, manage, and execute complex solution evaluations and Proofs of Concept ( PoCs ) to validate architectural decisions and support sales opportunities.

Serve as a technical interface between Sales, pre-sales, and customer technical teams, communicating field feedback to Product Management and Engineering.

What You Will Bring What You Will Bring

7+ years in a customer-facing technical pre-sales role (Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar) serving enterprise accounts.

Proven experience engaging with C-level executives and technical leadership to influence enterprise architectural decisions.

Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies and data center infrastructure solutions.

Strong background in cloud transformation, containerization (Kubernetes/container orchestration), and enterprise AI deployment requirements (e.g., LLM inference, Agentic AI, or data sovereignty parameters).

Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken).

Strong presentation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Vancouver, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Pay Transparency

The OTE range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between € 110,000 and € 164,000 per year. Please note that OTE offered may vary depending on relevant objective factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
