Saipem Offshore Construction is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage trenching equipment modifications from requirements analysis through validation, develop technical solutions, and support offshore operations to keep projects on schedule.

The role involves procurement oversight, technical documentation, and supervision of upgrades. Travel abroad is possible based on project assignments. Location: Marghera, Italy, with a hybrid working model.

Competenze

• Education: Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Experience: pref. >2 years.
• Languages: English minimum B1.
• Technical Skills: Corrosion/metallic materials in marine env., preferred.
• IT Skills: AutoCAD, 3D modelling preferred.

• Manage the engineering cycle for trenching equipment modifications and upgrades from requirements analysis to final validation.
• Develop technical solutions and supervise preparation of drawings, structural calculations, and functional specifications for modifications/upgrades.
• Provide technical support to offshore operations during all phases of trenching projects to preserve project schedule.
• Manage procurement for specialized technical components, develop specs, evaluate supplier proposals, and conduct technical bids.
• Supervise execution of upgrades and corrective maintenance, ensuring proper implementation of engineering solutions.

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Manage the engineering cycle for the assigned trenching equipment modifications and upgrades, from requirements analysis to final validation.
• Develop technical solutions, supervise the preparation of technical documentation (drawings, structural calculations, functional specifications) necessary for implementing modifications and upgrades to trenching equipment.
• Provide technical support to offshore operations during all phases of trenching Projects, preparations, mobilization, operations and demob, providing technical issues to preserve the Project schedule.
• Manage the procurement process for specialized technical components, developing technical specifications, evaluating supplier proposals, and conducting technical bid evaluations.
• Supervise the execution phase of the implementation of technical upgrades and/or corrective maintenance, ensuring correct implementation of designed engineering solutions.

What are we looking for?

Education: Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Experience: pref. >2years

Languages: English minimum B1

Technical Skills: Oligodynamic and/or knowledge of corrosion processes and behavior of metallic materials in marine environment is preferred

IT Skills: Autocad, pref. 3D modelling

What else should you know? You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work for and within the project assigned
